What Happens If You Drink Motor Oil?
Crude-based motor oil is toxic—potentially fatal if ingested. By contrast, plant-based oils like coconut, soybean, or castor oil (used in ABOVE motor oils) are technically edible before additives are added for engine performance. But the real difference shows up in a spill: crude oil lingers for years, while plant-based oils biodegrade in weeks.
So Why Are 96% of Oils Still Made From Crude?
Because most people don’t realize the risks. Big Oil has shaped perceptions—sponsoring race cars and burning off methane like it’s disposable. In reality, that same gas can be turned into cleaner GTL (Gas-to-Liquid) oils, which are still only a step above crude.
At ABOVE, We Took a Different Route.
Our oils are made from refined plant and algae oils—designed for maximum engine protection and minimal environmental impact. They’re polar, clean-burning, and engineered with long-chain molecules for strength and durability. We avoid the tar, sulfur, and chaotic molecule sizes found in crude. That means better mileage, fewer rebuilds, and a healthier planet.
The Planet Is Our Only Home.
Mars isn’t ready yet. So let’s stop being crude. ABOVE oils are born from living organisms, not dead fossils. Algae-based oils may cost more, but they last longer, perform better, and come from nature—without taking 400 million years to get here.
Venting gas while bringing up crude oil is a fairly standard practice.
