Why do we call it a power train? It is the engine, transmission and anything else that moves the power that was in the gasoline to the wheels that push the road and move you forward. It is the heart and soul of your car (Soul Train). 15 to 25% of the energy is lost to friction along that path. Up to a quarter of every gallon of gas is lost because of the oil not working as good as it could, the parts not being built well, poor design, or worn out parts because of bad oil, etc. Let’s just say good oil vs bad oil saves us 10% to be really nice. Now 10% of 20% is 2% of the gas is getting lost to friction. So that’s about $70 a year in gas savings to have the best oil. Warranty work is another thing. But oil also acts and a radiator, a cooler of the cylinder walls. The colder you run the engine the worse mileage. If your oil can handle the heat your engine can run hotter and produce more power. Let’s say that’s another $70 a year. Now that plant based oil can last two or three times as long as cheap crude based motor oils. So you have to buy twice or three times as much petroleum based motor oil to equal the ABOVE motor oil. Eventually you will see that the better oil doesn’t cost more, it pays you back with fuel savings, repairs, and a better resale value when they take it to a dealer to look in the engine before the sale.

You have a $65,000 purchase and you want to save $10 a quart on motor oil? What are you thinking? The dealer says it’s good enough. What about the gas, the extra power when you need it passing a car? Don’t you love that car? And this is how you treat it? It is ok, most people never took the time to understand plant based motor oils, friction, tar build up and wear on their engine. Take it from the race engineers who do understand every part along that power train and what oil will work best to keep it alive until the finish line.
